Everyone knows that a full night’s sleep helps you wake looking younger and rested, but most don’t fully grasp how getting less than seven hours sleep a night can actually speed up the aging process. Our skin has numerous important functions at night, including DNA repair, cellular detoxification and cellular renewal. This is why it is so important to wash your face before bed and apply nutrient-rich products to facilitate your skin’s recharge and renewal.

My winter evening skin care routine starts with a double cleanse using Dermalogica’s Precleanse, followed by Dermalogica’s Skin Resurfacing Cleanser. The Resurfacing Cleanser is a creamy 2 in 1 cleanser, containing lactic acid to gently exfoliate while cleansing. I follow that with Dermalogica’s Multivitamin Power Serum. Microencapsulated vitamin complex helps retexturize and revitalize the skin. This velvety serum increases the defense against signs of skin aging. Microencapsulated vitamins A, C and E melt into skin to help decrease the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation. Protein peptides support skin resilience and help minimize the appearance of sun-induced aging. I follow with the Dermalogica’s Bio-Lumin C Eye Serum which firms and brightens the eye area. Finally, I lock in moisture with Dermalogica’s Intensive Moisture Balance. The whole routine only takes five minutes leaving my skin clean, hydrated, nourished, and moisturized and ready to regenerate and repair while I sleep.
